The first monograph dedicated to the work of this pioneering art collective offers an in-depth look at one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary visual culture.
Over the past two decades, Broken Fingaz has achieved international recognition, establishing itself as one of the most influential and widely followed street art collectives working today. Originating from Israel’s graffiti scene in the early 2000s, the group quickly built a global cult following, praised for its bold, colourful, and provocative visual language. Their instantly recognisable aesthetic fuses high and low cultural references, drawing from 1980s punk, neo-psychedelia, modernist painting, and erotica.
Their collaborative, DIY approach, increasingly rare in today’s fast-paced and individualistic art world, has enabled the creation of ambitious projects across the globe. These range from large-scale murals and installations to intricately detailed, award-winning animations, as well as textile works and paintings. The collective has also produced artwork for leading international musicians, including Pearl Jam, U2, Blink-182, Beck, and others.
This publication marks their first monograph and provides unprecedented access to their multilayered practice. It brings together previously unseen works alongside iconic projects, complemented by personal texts, archival documents, and photographs that trace the collective’s evolution and creative journey.
Designed by the Copenhagen-based studio Claus Due, with texts by Charlotte Jansen, the book is an essential volume for readers interested in contemporary art and design, street art, and Middle Eastern cultural expression.
